Leek Town manager Neil Cox has admitted his disappointment at his side’s current performances but feels the team can turn this around, writes Mike Carter.

The Blues are currently 17th in the Evo-Stik First Division South and have only picked up three wins from 14 games. After last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield FC, Cox is looking to ring the changes and get the team back to winning ways.

Cox said: “We need to start picking up points quickly, we have only won three games all season.

“We need a win to get us going and then I am sure we will climb up the table.

“We are having problems at the moment and we haven’t had the best of starts. I am looking to change the way we are playing to pick up the points we need.”

Leek travel to Carlton Town tonight where they will be looking to complete a double over the Nottingham-based side.

The Millers currently sit second in the table just two points behind leaders Barwell, only losing once in the process.

Despite this, Cox is confident of earning a good result and he also said new signing Jamie Haynes will play a part.

He added: “I am more confident as we didn’t play well last weekend, sowe will be looking to bounce back with a much better performance.

“Obviously it will be a tough game but I think the changes I make will help the team.

“A win against a good team like Carlton would give us a lot of confidence and I am sure we could get a good run of form going.

“Jamie will be playing tonight, he has looked really bright in training and I look forward to seeing him on the field.

“It’s another good player added to the squad and I think this can only make us improve and spur the team on.”
